How do the Smart Badges work?
Smart Badges are hardware badges that use Bluetooth technology to allow participants to exchange contact information with a simple click. They also provide valuable insights such as heat maps of popular areas and session attendance tracking, which helps you understand what people are truly interested in.
What are the options for on-site registration and check-in?
Grip Onsite offers check-in options for attendees, which can be done via self-service kiosks. Attendees can verify their information and print their badges at these stations. There are options for both standard and premium self-service kiosks. Kiosk stations can also be configured for contactless registration.
What types of badges are available?
You can choose between firm laminated badges and paper badges. Both types are pre-printed with the event's design, with attendee-specific information printed on-site during check-in. They are customizable in terms of size, orientation, and lanyard hole options, and can also include an optional RFID sticker.
Can badges be printed upon arrival?
Yes. Attendees can check in using QR codes or name search, with badges printed on the spot in seconds for a smooth and professional arrival experience.
Can exhibitors or VIPs have separate badge formats?
Yes. Badge layouts can be fully customised based on ticket type, role, or access level, with clear visual differences where needed.
Can Grip Onsite be used with other event management systems?
Yes, Grip Onsite is flexible and can work with either Grip's own Engage or Manage products, or it can be used as a standalone solution that integrates with a third-party registration system.
Who handles the setup of registration equipment?
Hardware is delivered, installed, and tested by an onsite support team or trained technicians. Support is available throughout the event to ensure smooth operation. For events with fewer than four terminals, a self-managed option is available.
How long does it take to setup onsite badging?
Setup typically takes 2–6 hours depending on scale, with larger events requiring more time. It is usually completed the day before the event opens.
